Mill Driver Family — Annual Support
Alternative Identity: Mill Driver Family Livelihood Project
The Crisis: A Deceased Father and a Family Left Behind
The family of a local mill driver was struck by a devastating double tragedy. The father, who was the sole breadwinner, was diagnosed with stomach and pancreatic cancer. Bedridden and unable to work, the family fell into severe debt. Shortly thereafter, the driver passed away, leaving behind his wife, elderly mother, and a young daughter with no source of income or financial safety net.
We Do Charity originally opened this project as a medical support case. Following the driver's passing, we aligned our efforts with long-term family care. We launched a campaign raising 20,000 BDT to support the family's daily needs.
A Sustainable Support Plan
Instead of distributing all the cash at once, we developed a monthly disbursement plan of approximately 1,667 BDT per month to ensure the family has a stable source of food. Additionally, we began helping them plan a small backyard poultry farming business so they could achieve self-reliance and earn a sustainable income. We also provided special food packages during Ramadan to ensure they could break their fasts with dignity.
