The Problem: Sacred Texts on a Collapsing Shelf

At our family-operated Madrasa in Sirajganj, the wooden bookshelf holding the Holy Quran, Hadith collections, and other sacred texts had severely decayed. The shelf was leaning and at constant risk of collapsing, which would damage these sacred books. Additionally, the dedicated teachers at the Madrasa slept on worn-out mats on the hard floor, and the students rarely had access to nutritious meals due to tight budget constraints.

We Do Charity launched the 8th Project on January 11, 2025, with a target of 8,000 BDT to replace the bookshelf, buy comfortable bedding for the teachers, and host a special meal for the residents.

The SEO community backed this campaign heavily, raising 7,650 BDT in just 4 days. WDC spent a total of 8,100 BDT, covering the 450 BDT deficit from our emergency reserves. Every expense was shared openly:

• 2 Mattresses & 2 Pillows: 1,950 BDT
• 2kg Beef for Feast: 1,550 BDT
• Transportation: 300 BDT

The new bookshelf was installed immediately, and the teachers received comfortable bedding. The special meat feast was a rare and joyful treat for the students, who rarely get to eat beef.
