Project Mira

The Situation: An Abandoned Elderly Couple

Mira, a resident of Sirajganj who is approximately 70 years old, lives with severe physical and mental disabilities that make it extremely difficult to speak. His hands and legs shake uncontrollably. His elderly wife is forced to beg in neighboring houses to gather enough rice and lentils to survive. Although they have a son, he completely abandoned them, leaving them in absolute poverty in a dilapidated home with no fan and no toilet.

Our founder, Ilias Sami, spotted Mira on the side of a rural road from a van. Mira was shaking severely, unable to walk. Ilias stopped to investigate, visited their home, and instantly launched a relief initiative.

The Construction & Ongoing Food Support

We raised 6,544 BDT to build a private, secure sanitary toilet for Mira and his wife. The itemized cost breakdown was:

  • Slab and Column: 1,770 BDT
  • Tin Sheets: 2,935 BDT
  • Wood: 712 BDT
  • Transportation: 800 BDT
  • Wire and Iron: 170 BDT
  • Cashout Charges: 117 BDT
Following the installation, a generous donor from our SEO community stepped forward to provide monthly food support. During the extreme summer heat in June 2025, We Do Charity also purchased and installed a new standing fan (650 BDT) to keep them comfortable.
